In 1864, the Nevada state constitution was transmitted via morse code from Carson city to Washington DC. It is the longest morse code telegram ever sent, and would have taken several hours.
The Pair-O-Dice club opened in 1931 on Highway 91, it was the first casino of what would become the Las Vegas strip.
Las Vegas has more hotel rooms than any other place on earth.
In 2012, the Alien Cathouse was opened just outside of Area 51. It is a working brothel targeting sci-fi fanatics.
