Rocker-Chic Wedding

They may have recently split, but that doesn't make the 2002 wedding between Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale any less memorable! We love how they captured their fun and unique personalities in a truly elegant way.

The Dress

Stefani wore a silk faille (pronounced "file") gown from the Christian Dior house, designed by John Galliano. It was hand painted pink at the bottom. Faille is a unique and interesting choice for a bridal gown; it has a satin-like drape, and can even be stiff. Its notable characteristic is the small "ribbing" (think ribs in cordouroy) across the material. It has a beautiful luster and is a perfect choice for the simple and structured style Stefani went with. The asymmetrical scoop neckline was trimmed in tulle, and set atop a fitted corset bodice and dropped waist. The full skirt with pickups included a chapel length train. A matching veil with lace accents completed her look.

The Tux

Gavin wore a simple black two-button tux with a satin-edged notch lapel, no vest, and a blue neck tie. He trimmed it with a simple red rose corsage.

The Details

Gwen carried a phalaenopsis orchid cluster atop her grandmother's catholic bible. Her attendants wore silk bias cut gowns from Christian Dior.
